Heraldic  Description



Oblong with lower round triangle,  divided in quarters by narrow cross, border of azure. 

First quarter emblazoned of gold with a rampant lion of saber. 

Second quarter emblazoned of sinople with an argent wreath. 

Third quarter emblazoned of sinople with a gold Aesculapius'stick. 

Fourth quarter emblazoned of gules with a silver castle . 

The central shield recalls the arms of Charles Le Poyvre-Megrode de Liedermans. 

Gross border of  azure loaded with four fleur-de-lis of gold located 1 - 2 and 1. 




The gross border means protection, favor and is loaded  with the fleur-de-lis symbol of a generous spirit that returns 

repeatedly its benefits by the wrongs received. 

The  rampant lion symbolizes the  generous espirit, the caution, control, majesty and bravery; about the stars to Mars, 

of the horoscope to Leo, and is the central motive in the arms of the Oost Vlanderen Province, Belgium, 

where all started around 1680

The wreath the achievements during my student and profesional life.

The Aesculapius' stick the true symbol of  Medicine: a knotted cane with a single snake around it.  

The central shield recalls the  Van Meegroot's family shield. 

The castle is symbol of protection and recalls the one in Córdoba's arms.


The Enamels and Metals

 In heraldry the color assigned to each element possesses a special meaning

AZURE: Blue it symbolizes the LIBERTY, of the elements the Air; of the planets to Venus; of the virtues the Justice;

 of the human qualities the Beauty, Nobility, Perseverance, Loyalty and Recreation. 

SABER: Black. It symbolizes the MODESTY, of the precious stones the diamond; of the stars to Saturn; 

of the signs of the zodiac to Aquarius; of the human qualities the Prudence, Sadness, Severity, Uprightness. 

SINOPLE: Green. It symbolizes the HOPE, of the elements the Land; of the trees the Laurel; 

of the human qualities the Honor, the Friendship. 


GOLD: Yellow. It symbolizes the JUSTICE; of the elements the Fire; of the stars the

Sun; of the virtues Clemency; of the human qualities the Chivalry, the Wealth, the Generosity and the Splendor; 

of the signs of the zodiac to


SILVER: White. It symbolizes the HAPPINESS; of the elements  the Water and united to the azure 

the sea, rivers, lakes and gaps; of the human qualities the Frankness, the Cleaning and the Integrity; 

of the signs of the zodiac to Cancer. 


GULES: Red. It symbolizes the BRAVERY; of the elements to the Fire; from the planets to Mars; 

of the virtues the Charity; of the human qualities the Magnanimity and the Honor. 


PURPLE: Violet. Little  used in heraldry, shares the properties of the enamels and metals.symbolizes Jupiter; 

among the precious stones the amethyst; of the human qualities to the Justice, Ingenuity, Wisdom, Truth. 



   After I became a Belgian cityzen by jus sanguii in 2004, I designed  the shield

 in 2006              /                 2007              /              2008

 The Hippocratic Oath

I swear by Apollo the physician, by Aesculapius, Hygeia, and Panacea, and I take to witness all the gods, 

all the goddesses, to keep according to my ability and my judgement, the following Oath.

To consider dear to me as my parents him who taught me this art; to live in common with him and if necessary

to share my goods with him; To look upon his children as my own brothers, to teach them this art if they so desire

 without fee or written promise; to impart to my sons and the sons of the master who taught me and the disciples 

who have enrolled themselves and have agreed to the rules of the profession, but to these alone the precepts and the instruction.

I will prescribe regimens for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone.

To please no one will I prescribe a deadly drug nor give advice which may cause his death.

Nor will I give a woman a pessary to procure abortion.

But I will preserve the purity of my life and my art.

I will not cut for stone, even for patients in whom the disease is manifest; I will leave this operation to be performed by practitioners,

specialists in this art.

In every house where I come I will enter only for the good of my patients, keeping myself far from all intentional ill-doing and 

all seduction and especially from the pleasures of love with women or with men, be they free or slaves.

All that may come to my knowledge in the exercise of my profession or in daily commerce with men, which ought not to be spread 

abroad, I will keep secret and will never reveal.

If I keep this oath faithfully, may I enjoy my life and practice my art, respected by all men and in all times; 

but if I swerve from it or violate it, may the reverse be my lot.”
